

A lawyer with over twenty years of experience, he is recognized for his outstanding performance in corporate insolvency proceedings. A partner at FVA | Fonseca Vannucci Abreu Advogados, he heads the area of corporate disputes and companies in crisis.
Considered one of the greatest national references in judicial recovery, Geraldo is a member of FONAREF, an agency linked to the CNJ, responsible for improving recovery and bankruptcy procedures in the country. In addition, he is a member of NEPI, the Center for Studies and Research in Insolvency, at PUC-SP, which is dedicated to statistical and jurimetric studies of insolvency proceedings.
Author of three of the main works on the subject of judicial recovery, including “Manual da Recuperação Judicial” (Forense) and “Comentários à Lei de Recuperação e Falência” (Forense), Geraldo also coordinates the collective work “Arbitragem, Mediação, Falência e Recuperação” (Thomson Reuters) and the collection “O Novo Processo Civil Brasileiro: Problemas e Soluções” (The New Brazilian Civil Process: Problems and Solutions) (Letramento), with five volumes. In addition, he contributes dozens of articles to collective works and specialized magazines.
With his reputation in the study of judicial recovery in Brazil, Geraldo gained international recognition, participating as an observer-delegate in the meetings of Uncitral, at the United Nations, and being frequently invited as a speaker at important events around the world.
Geraldo holds a PhD and a Master’s in Law from PUC-SP and works as a Professor and Coordinator of the Specialization Program at PUC-Campinas. In addition, he is a guest professor in postgraduate courses at PUC-SP, PUC-Rio, PUC-RS, UFMT, among others.
As a member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), Legalmondo and the Brazilian Institute of Procedural Law (IBDP), Geraldo maintains a solid connection with international organizations and associations relevant to his area of expertise.
